About

We believe everyone deserves to browse safely

LinkThreatScan was built out of a simple frustration: it was too hard to quickly tell whether a link was safe to click. Existing tools were either too technical, too slow, or hidden behind expensive paywalls. We decided to change that.

Our mission

Our mission is to make professional-grade cybersecurity analysis accessible to everyone — from everyday internet users who want to verify a suspicious link, to security researchers and businesses that need to monitor their domains continuously. We provide instant, transparent risk scores backed by real threat data, with no sign-up required for basic scans.

What we analyse

SSL / TLS certificates

Validity, chain trust, expiry and cipher strength.

Threat blacklists

Real-time lookups across global phishing and malware feeds.

DNS & DNSSEC

Deep inspection of DNS records and cryptographic signing.

Open ports

Detection of exposed services that increase attack surface.

Domain reputation

Age, registration history plus WHOIS anomaly detection.

HTTP security headers

CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, and more.

Email security

SPF, DKIM, DMARC configuration checks.

Content analysis

Phishing indicators and brand-impersonation detection.

Our technology

LinkThreatScan runs dozens of concurrent security checks the moment you submit a URL. Our backend aggregates data from multiple threat intelligence feeds, performs live DNS queries, attempts TLS handshakes, and inspects HTTP response headers — all in parallel to keep scan times under 30 seconds for most targets.

Results are normalised into a weighted risk score ranging from 0 (clean) to 100 (critical), giving you an at-a-glance verdict alongside a full breakdown of each individual check. Premium subscribers can export these reports as PDF and track changes over time.

Our values

Meet the founder

Emil Gheonea

LinkThreatScan is a personal project built and maintained by Emil, a software engineer with a passion for web security and making professional-grade tools accessible to everyone. The idea was born out of one too many "is this link safe to click?" moments with no good, free answer available. Every check, every scoring algorithm, and every line of infrastructure behind this scanner was designed and built solo.
